It was a highly competitive but hilarious atmosphere at Handlesbanken’s Chichester office on 16th February, as businesses from across the area battled it out on the table football pitches to raise much needed funds for two local charities.
Sponsored by Handelsbanken, the annual Table Football Tournament saw teams allocated with countries to represent in appropriate costume. This year, Anderson Rowntree was selected as the USA and of course, wasted no time in dressing up as Donald Trump!
The event was in aid of two local charities, Stonepillow and St Wilfreds Hospice, raising £500 on the night for them.
The tournament was masterfully kept under control by Chris Golding who heads up the Chichester Handelsbanken branch, keeping teams fuelled with Beer and Pizza. The participating teams represented USA, Russia, Greece, Denmark, Italy, Spain, Ireland and Turkey.
The Donald Trump wigs clearly helped the winning streak continue, as we swept to victory for the second year in succession. The team was represented by Stephen Brown and Ian Owen (both Commercial Property Solicitors); Darryl Jump and Josh Foxon (both from the Accounts Team), all from the Chichester office.
In claiming victory and the trophy, Managing Partner Will Stisted wasted no time getting into character for the photo:
The final match pitched USA against Henry Adams Estate Agents, representing Italy. Despite some expected banter and table movements, our battling duo Stephen and Darryl held out for a 10-5 win!
Commenting on the glorious victory, Will Stisted said: “It was a great evening raising much needed money for two worthy causes. The hotshots of Anderson Rowntree did it again and I am glad the wigs didn’t interfere with the passage of play, but it was touch and go at times.
Last year, we won dressed as Russians, so it all seems rather apt again!”
