It’s amazing what our staff get up to in their spare time for charity!!
Emma Duberley, our Legal Cashier who works in the Accounts team at our Chichester office, and her husband Rob, have abseiled 180ft down the Bakehouse Tower at Arundel Castle to raise money for the Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice.
The event took place as part of the 15th birthday celebrations of the charity, which is based in Arundel. Chestnut Tree House is a children’s charity providing hospice care services and community support for children and young people with progressive life-shortening conditions throughout East and West Sussex, Brighton and Hove and South East Hampshire.
The Bakehouse Tower is an iconic part of the much loved castle which has dominated Arundel’s skyline since the 11th Century.
Once overcoming the vertigo inducing lean over the edge, it was a simple case of letting gravity take its course – in the most controlled way possible! The weather was kind and Emma even had a chance to take in the magnificent view from the top before she and Rob descended.
More importantly, we are delighted to say that they raised £615 so far for a very worthy cause that we are close to. Well done Emma and Rob!
