We were delighted to be the lead sponsor again at the annual JustDifferent Charity Footgolf Day, held at The Chichester Golf Club on Friday 21st Sept.
Despite a combination of holidays and injuries, we fielded a competitive side and managed to miss out on the inglorious wooden spoon! The Anderson Rowntree team of Managing Partner Will Stisted, Legal Secretary Jackie Boxall, Accounts Manager Lena Pluck and Senior Chartered Legal Executive Nicola Burden braved a testing course in glorious weather.
The terrain proved a challenge at times, with the seemingly gaping hole for the footballs to drop into, being reluctant to co-operate on quite a few occasions!
Even if the team were a little behind with practice before the event, they all looked great in matching “AR” team shirts, at least!
Footgolf, as the name suggests, is a combination of football played on a golf course. The ball is kicked rather than struck with a club, working toward a larger hole. The player who finishes the course with the fewest shots wins.
Will Stisted said “Anderson Rowntree were delighted and privileged to be the main sponsor for a second year running of this wonderful event. This year we only entered one team in the hope of winning the prestigious title of Footgolf Champion 2018. Once again though we were unsuccessful, but we did not come last!
A great afternoon, mainly in the sunshine, was had by all who participated whilst at the same time raising money for a very worthy cause”.
Just Different is a registered charity that creates positive social attitudes towards disability and difference among children and young people. They achieve this through stimulating, interactive and educational workshops, written and created by disabled people which are then delivered in schools.
