It’s all gone quackers in Storrington!

Anderson Rowntree were delighted to be one of the key sponsors of this year’s annual Storrington Duck Race, raising much needed funds for the village’s primary school.

The firm ran a busy stall which proved popular with the local children – offering an array of sweet treats, colourful magic marker pens, mugs, pens and notepads – as well as a prize draw to name and win the exclusive Anderson Rowntree 2018 cuddly duck.

Senior Partner at the Storrington office, Chris Wise was joined by Sarah Warwick – Family Law Paralegal, Siobhan Perrigo, Litigation Solicitor and Gareth Collins, Senior Associate Property Solicitor.

There were some hotly contested races this year, with 2,400 rubber ducks competing in six heats. The top ten ducks from each race went on to compete in the grand finale.

We also congratulated Michelle Cooper, who was the lucky winner of the prize draw.  Michelle named the duck Ace and he is now settling in to his new home!

“We had a lot of fun today meeting and chatting to young and old in the village” said Sarah Warwick, whose daughter attends Storrington Primary School. “Our goodies flew off the stall and were much appreciated. The race is always a great annual tradition and it creates such a buzz - or should I say quack?!”

The day has raised a fantastic £6000 so far and looks to be heading to £7000 by the time all donations are in. Proceeds from the Duck Race are going to Storrington Primary School to provide and maintain facilities and equipment, including the well-used swimming pool.
